Hellgate London Review - What I Really Think

by Jessica P

This game had a lot of hype and a lot of people were looking forward to playing it. The unfortunate thing is that the game, while good, simply doesn't measure up to the hype.

Don't go thinking this online game review was written to bash the London game, that's not it at all. It was just bland. After you listen to people and media saying all kinds of great things about something, you start to think this is going to be super-awesome, or at least something you've never experienced before.

However, this game wasn't innovative, amazing, or even awesome. It was fun, and there are parts where you are really excited. It's a decent game that could have been a GREAT game if the rest of it was a lot more like those parts.

If you find another Hellgate London review and it says the game was blow-your-brains-out fantastic, or that it even lived up to the public's expectations, they're lying. It's rather like smiling and complimenting your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that their new hairdo really looks bad, because you'd rather not hurt their feelings.

And on top of all that, the stats kept confusing me to no end. It's hard to keep track of each and every weapon doing different kinds of damage. Well, despite that problem, it's nifty to be able to use a wide variety of attacks.

One of the neatest things that I will include in this Hellgate London review is that you are now able to break down items to save on space in your inventory, and you're able to suck up your gold like a vacuum. Well, hey, it's hard to top that. Remember, if Hellgate London doesn't do it for you. There are plenty more games out there.
